Snapshot: Keep Values as They Were
Freeze prices, commissions and discounts at the moment a record is created.
Most values in Ambisius stay live: change a product name and every sale shows the new one. Some values shouldn't change, like the price a customer actually paid.
A Snapshot rule is calculated once, when the record is created, and then kept as it was. Use it for prices, commission rates, discounts and exchange rates at the time of the transaction.
